Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-08-21. These Terms are a binding agreement between you and OpenSlot ("OpenSlot", "we", "us") for the OpenSlot website, web app, Outlook add-in and mobile companion app (the "Service"). By signing in or using the Service you accept them. If you use the Service for an organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it, and "you" includes that organization.
1. Eligibility and accounts
The Service is for business use by people aged 18 or older who sign in with a Microsoft 365 work or school account. You are responsible for activity under your account, for keeping your Microsoft credentials secure, and for using the Service in line with your employer's policies and any permissions your organization has granted or restricted.
2. What the Service does (and doesn't promise)
OpenSlot reads Microsoft 365 free/busy availability and produces a text list of times when the selected people appear free. It is a convenience tool: results reflect what Microsoft Graph returns at the moment you ask. Free/busy can be hidden, stale, restricted by your organization, or simply wrong, and calendars change. Always confirm availability before committing to a meeting. OpenSlot does not book meetings, send invitations, or guarantee anyone's attendance.
3. Plans, trials and pricing
New accounts receive a 14-day trial of the Pro plan at no charge and with no payment method required; when it ends the account automatically becomes a Free account with lower limits. Paid plans and current prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes we are required to collect. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app; changes take effect at your next renewal after the notice period.
4. Automatic renewal, cancellation and refunds
Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically — monthly or yearly, as you selected — at the price shown at checkout, charged to your payment method by our payment processor, until you cancel. You give separate, express consent to these renewal terms at checkout. You will be reminded by email before a yearly renewal. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing in the app (the same online medium you used to subscribe), with no fee; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep access until then. Team plan seat counts can be changed any time in the same place and are prorated by the processor.
Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where we choose to refund at our discretion (for example a clear billing error or duplicate charge — email openslotadmin@gmail.com). Downgrading or canceling does not entitle you to a refund for the remainder of a period. We may suspend paid features if a charge fails after the processor's retry period.
5. Team plans
The person who purchases a Team plan (the "Team owner") assigns seats to colleagues by email and is responsible for the plan, for having authority to grant those colleagues access under their organization's policies, and for removing seats when people leave. Members receive Pro features while the Team plan is active and the seat is assigned; if the Team plan lapses, member access reverts to Free.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to: access calendars you are not authorized to view; use the Service to harass, stalk or profile people; resell, sublicense or offer the Service to third parties as your own; probe, scrape, overload, reverse engineer or interfere with the Service or its security; use it in violation of Microsoft's terms for your Microsoft 365 account; or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
7. Third-party services
The Service depends on Microsoft 365 / Microsoft Graph (your account and calendars) and Stripe (payments). Your use of those services is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for their availability, changes to their APIs or policies, or for how your organization has configured Microsoft 365 (for example free/busy sharing rules). Microsoft, Microsoft 365 and Outlook are trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; OpenSlot is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Microsoft.
8. Your data and privacy
We access Microsoft 365 data only to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. We do not store calendar data. Where you are an organization and data-protection law requires it, a data processing addendum is available on request.
9. Intellectual property and feedback
We own the Service and everything in it; these Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it during your subscription. The lists you generate from your own data are yours. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation to you.
10. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the Service is provided without uptime guarantees (a service-level agreement is available for larger agreements on request). We may change, add or remove features, and may discontinue the Service with at least 30 days' notice, refunding any prepaid fees for the period after discontinuation.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT AVAILABILITY DATA IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES (INCLUDING MISSED OR DOUBLE-BOOKED MEETINGS), ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IN ANY 12-MONTH PERIOD IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THAT PERIOD OR US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places our liability is limited to the extent permitted.
13. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify us against claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service in breach of these Terms, of applicable law, or of the rights of others, including claims by your organization or colleagues about access to their calendar availability.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel any subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your account for breach of these Terms, for legal or security reasons, or if required by Microsoft or our payment processor; if we terminate without cause we will refund prepaid fees for the unused period. Sections that by their nature should survive (payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law) survive termination.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable US federal law. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at openslotadmin@gmail.com and allow 30 days to try to resolve it informally. Any claim that is not resolved will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kentucky, and you consent to their jurisdiction. To the extent permitted by law, claims may only be brought on an individual basis and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, consolidated or representative action. Nothing in this section limits any rights you have as a consumer under mandatory local law.
16. General
These Terms (with the Privacy Policy and any order or checkout details) are the entire agreement about the Service. If any part is unenforceable the rest remains in effect. We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new date and, for paid users, notified by email at least 14 days before they take effect — continued use after that means you accept them. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. You must comply with US export and sanctions laws in using the Service. Notices to us go to openslotadmin@gmail.com.
